All 55 students who completed the second edition of the Master's in Medicine at USI have successfully passed the federal examination licensing them to practice medicine. In the last few days, students have been informed of the results of the federal examination: the success rate for candidates from the USI Master's in Medicine was 100%.

The Federal Medical Examination took place on 6 and 8 August 2024 (written MC examination) and on 2 September 2024 (practical OSCE examination) at the East Campus in Lugano and, at the same time, at the other Swiss universities. The students were called upon to take the theoretical exam with a total of 240 multiple-choice questions and to tackle clinical cases, all determined by a special federal commission and equal for all, in order to guarantee the impartiality of the results.

"Obtaining a perfect score in these second federal examinations is further evidence of the quality of the programme we have developed in Southern Switzerland, also thanks to the clinical training offered together with Ente ospedaliero cantonale, clinics and general practitioners in the Canton of Ticino" - underlines the Dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences at USI, Giovanni Pedrazzini - "I am very proud of the level of preparation achieved by our students: congratulations!"
