Professor Andrea Raballo, full professor of Psychiatry at USI Faculty of Biomedical Sciences and head of research and academic training at the Cantonal Socio-Psychiatric Organisation (OSC), has been selected as a speaker at the tenth Horasis Global Meeting. The event will take place from 7 to 10 October 2025, in São Paulo, Brazil. He will be one of the few representatives from Switzerland and the only representative from Università della Svizzera italiana.

The 10th Horasis Global Summit will be held in São Paulo, focusing on the theme "Harnessing the Power of Cooperation." Co-organised by the State of São Paulo and the Horasis community, the summit will gather over 1,000 international leaders, including ministers, CEOs, academics, and representatives from civil society. They will discuss pressing global challenges, including geopolitical tensions, climate change, and economic imbalances.

On Wednesday, 8 October, Prof. Raballo will participate in a panel discussion titled "Cooperating with the Machines" (Room 5), which will focus on the relationship between humans and new technologies. The discussion will examine how automation and artificial intelligence can enhance human roles and promote progress in alignment with shared values. Professor Raballo will draw on his experience as a co-founder (alongside Professor Antonietta Mira) of the transdisciplinary REMEDI Lab (REthinking MEntal health through Clinical and Data Intelligence), which is part of the Euler Institute at USI. The REMEDI Lab develops artificial intelligence systems designed to assist clinicians by providing transparent and clinically relevant tools for preventive and precision psychiatry, integrating data science with mental health.

The summit is the main annual event of Horasis, an international think tank based in Zurich, founded in 2005 by Frank-Jurgen Richter. Through a network of global leaders, Horasis promotes dialogue and concrete actions aimed at sustainable development and innovation. The São Paulo stage, following previous editions in Liverpool and Cascais, celebrates the tenth edition of a forum recognised as a premier space for global discussion.
