Soft Toy Appeal: Donate your cuddly toys to the UniVerso Teddy Bear Hospital
Institutional Communication Service
5 March 2026
In anticipation of the UniVerso Open Day, the USI Faculty of Biomedical Sciences is organising a collection of soft toys. These will become the "patients" of the Teddy Bear Hospital, one of the most popular activities for children during the event's previous edition.
Students and staff are invited to take part by donating a soft toy or a full-bodied rag doll. The "doctors" (students from the Master of Medicine) will use them to simulate check-ups and medical treatments, helping little ones familiarise themselves with the healthcare environment in a playful and reassuring way.
When and where to donate
The collection will take place at two separate times across the USI campuses:
- 25 and 26 March, from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm at the West Campus – under the Cube, USI Truck area (in case of bad weather: main building entrance, first floor).
- 1 April, from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm at the East Campus – Front Desk Sector D, ground floor.
What we are collecting
- Soft toys (stuffed animals) and full-bodied rag dolls in excellent or good condition.
Please note: what we are NOT collecting
- Broken, torn, or overly worn toys
- Cushions
- Balls
- Barbies or dolls
- Other types of toys
- Lego
A small gesture can help make the UniVerso experience even more special for the children taking part.
