Zonta Club Lugano Foundation: scholarship awards ceremony for the 2025/26 academic year

The 26th scholarship awards ceremony of the Zonta Club Lugano Foundation took place on Friday, 6 March 2026, at 6 pm at Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana. In the presence of political and academic dignitaries, seven university students—both Swiss and foreign nationals residing in Ticino—were awarded cheques for 4,000 francs each.

Since 2001, the Zonta Club Lugano (a service club and member of Zonta International) has supported 150 students with a total of 600,000 francs through its foundation. One of the club's primary objectives is to promote education and professional development across all fields globally.

Scholarship Recipients for the 2025/26 Academic Year:

• Carla Chaiene Azevedo (Lugano): Nursing student at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI).
• Lara Barella (Arzo): English and Italian Literature student at the University of Fribourg.
• Matthias Iannarella (Savosa): Computer Science Engineering student at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI).
• Kristina Krebs (Giubiasco): Medicine student at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI).
• Davide Petraglio (Gordola): Earth Sciences student at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich).
• Nayeli Pierini (Locarno): Law student at the University of Zurich.
• Sarangoo Solongo (Rivera): Medicine student at the University of Basel.
