The Faculty of Biomedical Sciences (see its research areas here) is happy to support applications from candidates for:

  • Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) programmes: Return CH Postdoc.Mobility, Ambizione and Starting Grants;
  • European Research Council (ERC) grants: Starting Grant and Consolidator Grant;
  • Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA): European Postdoctoral Fellowships, Global Postdoctoral Fellowships return phase. 

which are aimed at supporting the career development of outstanding early-career researchers. Interested candidates are invited to contact, for further information, the Research Service ([email protected]).

  • Application for academic titles

    Application for the title of PD or titular professor at the Faculty of biomedical Sciences:

    It is possible to apply for the title of PD (new or recognition) or titular professor (new or recognition) by uploading the following documents on a special platform:

    PD:

    1. Letter of motivation including a description (maximum half page) of present/future interactions with faculty

    2. Letter of presentation from the representative of the discipline, within the Board of Professors

    3. Curriculum vitae; (based on the model available for PD o for titular professor)

    4. For physicians: Federal medical degree (or non-Swiss degree recognized in Switzerland), doctoral degree (Dr.med. or PhD) and specialty degree(s) according to ISFM/SIWF criteria (or non-Swiss degree recognized in Switzerland)

      For other academics active in the biomedical field: Doctoral degree (PhD)

    5. Documentation evidencing participation in a teaching course recognised by the Medical educaton Unit (info here)

    6. Documentation of teaching activities (form here)

    7. Documentazione dell’attività scientifica

    • Summary (approx. 2 pages) of research carried out in the past 5 years
    • List of publications (form here)
    • List of research projects funded by third parties (SNSF, EU, Innosuisse, others)

    8. Recognition of titles: document certifying the receipt of the title of PD or titular professor from a Swiss faculty

    Applications must be reviewed by the Dean before being submitted to the Promotion Committee. Therefore, the quarterly dates for submitting applications are set out below. Applications received after the deadline of a quarter will be discussed at the following meeting.
