A new study from the Nephrology Lab, published in Kidney International, shows that the enzyme PCK1 plays a crucial role in protecting kidney cells after injury. These findings suggest that boosting PCK1 activity could help slow down or prevent the progression of chronic kidney disease. https://www.kidney-international.org/article/S0085-2538(25)00513-7/fulltext
