The John Eccles Foundation with the patronage of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences of Università della Svizzera italiana and the Sasso Corbaro Foundation are pleased to invite to the lecture "Coma e stato vegetativo: il mistero dei disordini della coscienza" given (in Italian) by  Martin M. Monti, professor at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in the departments of Psychology and Neurosurgery. The lecture will be held on Friday, 2 September 2022, at 5:30 pm. Participation can be both in presence at the USI Auditorium (West Campus) and remote via the Zoom platform. Registration required.

//Martin M. Monti is a professor at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in the departments of Psychology and Neurosurgery. He graduated from L Bocconi University (2002) in Economic and Social Disciplines, working on the integration of cognitive psychology and game theory, and then received a Ph.D. degree (2007) in Psychology and Neuroscience from Princeton University, working on the neural bases of reasoning. Between 2007 and 2010 he was a research fellow in Cambridge, UK, at the Medical Research Council Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (CBU) where he worked primarily on disorders of consciousness. His studies, published among the most prestigious international scientific journals, are aimed at understanding what the neural basis of consciousness is, from a functional and structural point of view, with particular interest in disorders of consciousness such as Coma and Vegetative State.
