Doctor medicinae (Dr. med.) at the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences

The Faculty of Biomedical Sciences offers the opportunity to submit a doctoral dissertation for the award of the Dr. med. degree.

Application

To enrol in the doctoral programme in medicine (Dr. med.), candidates must hold a Federal Diploma in Medicine (Federal Examination in Human Medicine), a medical degree awarded by a Swiss Faculty of medicine, or a foreign medical degree recognised by the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO).

To proceed with enrolment, candidates must complete the online registration form and upload the required documents:

1. Curriculum vitae
2. Master’s degree diploma
3. Medical diploma obtained after passing the state examination, or a foreign medical diploma recognised by the Federal Office of Public Health
4. Form Doctoral Dissertation Agreement

Once the dissertation is completed, the following documents must be submitted through the final submission form:

1. The dissertation
2. Form Evaluation of the dissertation (prepared by the dissertation director)
3. Antiplagiarism statement

Note: The dissertation must be submitted with a cover page.

After an initial review, the dissertation is submitted to the Doctoral Committee.

Fee

The enrolment fee for the doctoral programme in medicine (Dr. med.) is CHF 500.- (una tantum)..

Regulations

The title of Dr. med. at the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences is granted according to the relevant Regulation for obtaining the title of “Doctor medicinae” (Dr. med.).
