The Faculty of Biomedical Sciences was the protagonist of an episode of "Il giardino di Albert", a RSI television programme on science, nature and technology. The Faculty was represented by the Dean Giovanni Pedrazzini, the Vice Dean for Research Greta Guarda and the Vice Dean for Studies Luca Gabutti.

Besides discussing the medicine of the future, the various activities of the Faculty were presented, with a special focus on the new Master of Medicine. "The challenge of the Master's degree was an important one." explained Dean Giovanni Pedrazzini in front of the cameras in the courtyard of the East Campus,"we were well prepared and the balance is very positive." In this regard, the Vice-Dean of studies Luca Gabutti illustrates the results of some surveys, including comparative ones, on students' satisfaction: "Receiving a satisfaction index even higher than that of other Swiss universities was just what was needed after the great construction work of the past years." Smaller and proportioned groups in clinical practice for effective learning: these are the features most appreciated by students, whose numbers continue to grow. The Vice-Dean of Research, Greta Guarda, then illustrates the points of contact between the Master's degree and research, emphasizing that "the Faculty has enabled an integration process with the other research institutes in the territory which is leading to a progressive convergence between these realities, with a better use of resources and the creation of new synergies." In conclusion, some reflections on the potential impact on the health sector: "In Ticino, the quality of medical care is already very high," highlights the Dean, "but we can foresee positive medium-term effects of this teamwork, which is involving everyone: first and foremost those who teach at the Master, who are showing great enthusiasm, but also hospitals, doctors, health personnel, nursing homes and politics."

This episode, available here below, was recorded at the East Campus during "Festa in corte" and first aired on Sunday 17 October.
